Remedia can claim to be the first privately owned company in Estonia since the restoration of independence to achieve in 1991 the right to start the production of alcoholic beverages.
That licence was initially given only for the production of beverages with a lower alcohol content, as vodka production was still a state monopoly held by RAS Liviko. Nevertheless Remedia was able to establish its market position relatively quickly and became highly popular with its first product – the egg liqueur Kiiu Torn. The liqueur was named after the village where Remedia was operating and the stronghold tower that used to be there. In the 70′s a pub was established there, which shortly became immensely popular. To this day Remedia is in Estonia the sole producer of such an egg liqueur based on purely natural components.
In 1993 the products of Saare Dzinn and quite soon also Monopol vodka were launched on the market. The quickly evolving company has been adding to the impressive range of products nearly on a yearly basis. In addition to the production of vodka, gin and various liqueurs and the Pierre Devant brandy.
|The products of Remedia have been well received outside Estonia as well, both in the neighbouring countries and in more distant parts of the world.
